LISTOS (Spanish for “Ready”)
LISTOS is a preparedness program designed to empower Spanish-speaking communities to effectively prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters. It provides culturally and linguistically appropriate training and resources to help individuals and families develop emergency plans, assemble disaster supply kits, and understand local hazards and evacuation procedures. LISTOS also emphasizes community resilience and encourages participants to engage in mutual assistance and support networks within their neighborhoods. By equipping Spanish-speaking communities with the knowledge and tools they need to be prepared, LISTOS helps to build stronger, more resilient communities that can better withstand and recover from disasters.
